Top Summer Activities to Enjoy in Downtown Alpena

  • Shipwreck tours – One of the most unique summer activities downtown has to offer is definitely the glass bottom boat tours and the brand-new kayaking tours! The glass bottom boat ride is a narrated two-hour tour, that lets you to check out the beautifully preserved local shipwrecks in Lake Huron. If you want a more interactive experience, then the kayak tours are definitely for you!   • Fishing – Although you can fish on the river and the big lake during the winter months when it freezes, it’s not nearly as fun as summer fishing! Get a nice tan while you throw a line in the water and catch one of the many species of fish the river and lake has to offer.
