A common myth I hear about downtown Alpena is that there is nowhere to park, or all of the parking lots are full. Although many people frequent downtown there are always open spaces somewhere; you just need to know where to find them! Below I will highlight some parking lots and street parking that you may have never realized are open to the public and are typically never full. Parking lot off of Carter Street

All day parking lot north side of 2nd Ave on Carter St between Holiday Inn & the Cellar Building

On street parking River Street

All day on street parking on both sides of River St between Holiday Inn & Northern Title Company

All day parking lot on Water St between old Post office & 2nd Ave
