Downtown Alpena Fall Bucket List

Fall in downtown Alpena is a beautiful time of the year. The leaves are changing colors, there’s a cool breeze and lots of events and things to do downtown!

  • Witches Night Out – One of the many fall events downtown Alpena has to offer is Witches Night Out on October 18th from 5-8pm. You can enjoy spooky themed drinks at participating bars/restaurants, participate in the scavenger hunt, pick from a cauldron and try to win a coupon or downtown dollars and more!
  • Football Games – Fall time means football season is back! So instead of sitting at home to watch your favorite NFL or college football team, come to downtown Alpena and watch the big game at a bar or restaurant. Order a drink and an appetizer and cheer on your team with a group of friends! You can find a full list of all downtown bars/restaurants here!
  • Pumpkin Spice Coffee – One thing that is a must every year when fall rolls around is enjoying a cup of pumpkin flavored coffee. During that first cool fall day stop by Biggby, Cabin Creek, or Friendly Foodees and enjoy your hot or iced pumpkin coffee!

  • Leaves Changing – If you take a walk along 2nd Ave, Chisholm, or the Alpena Bi-Path you can see the beautiful changing colors. You can also enjoy a social district beverage while you take your stroll through downtown and check out the colorful leaves!
  • Trick or Treating – One of the best parts about fall is Halloween, and it’s always fun to bring the kiddos to downtown Alpena and take them trick or treating at downtown businesses on October 25th from 5-7:30pm! You can also go behind city hall and enjoy Trunk or Treat hosted by the Alpena State Police Post on the same day and time!
