Kickoff the fall season by coming to downtown Alpena this weekend to enjoy the many fall events going on from Friday to Sunday!
Friday September 13th at 5pm
To start the weekend off you can enjoy the free Friday the 13th Live Music event hosted by Friendly Foodees! Enjoy rock music from 5 different bands in alleyway by Friendly Foodees!


Saturday September 14th from 10am-2pm
Saturday morning you can check out the local vendors at the Sunrise Side Farm Co-Op: Outdoor Market located in the parking lot behind the Center Building and Mango’s.

Saturday September 14th from 10am-4pm
Happening around the same time is the Fall Festival & Open House at Joshua Tree Studio & Spa. There will be complimentary mini yoga and meditation sessions throughout the day and a goodie basket giveaway!

Saturday September 14th from 12-3pm
If you’re looking for a more kid friendly event, be sure to come downtown and enjoy Shades of Fall hosted by Thunder Bay Arts Council! At 12 there’s a puppet show featuring Kevin Kammeraad, 1:00 and 2:00; an inflatable obstacle course courtesy of the National Guard; sailboats to assemble and float in the Culligan fountain courtesy of Home Depot; hayrides with a singalong; as well as many children’s activities in downtown Alpena, including making customized girls & boys sunglasses hosted by Classic Designs by Doreen Thomas. She will also have garden bouquets with fall elements for sale and will be set up in front of the Thunder Bay Winery. –All activities happening on 2nd Avenue.



Saturday September 14th from 3-9pm
After the Shades of Fall event the adults are going to want to stay downtown for the Annual Harvest Festival hosted by Thunder Bay Winery! Its twelve dollars at the door or get two dollars off if you bring your glass from a previous Harvest Festival. Enjoy games, food trucks and live music by Ethereal Purr, Way Out Wayne, and June Street Riot! There will also be a hotdog eating contest hosted by Bobs Bullpen and Mangos will have a taco bar! All activities happening on 2nd Ave.


Saturday September 15th at 7pm
Enjoy Open Mic with MI Poet Laureate Nandi Comer hosted by the Alpena County Library and the Poetics Lab. Listen to her read some of her work as well as some other lovely poetry by local authors.

Sunday September 15th from 11am-1pm
To wrap up the weekend you can go back to Joshua Tree Studio & Spa to enjoy the last day of their Fall Festival and Open House. Relax with the complimentary community yoga session and reminisce about the fun fall filled weekend you’ve had in downtown Alpena.
