Late Night Cabarets start TONIGHT!

Thunder Bay Theatre is doing amazing things in our community. From bringing shows like Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Monty Python’s Spamalot, and Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew to our community, to hosting eighteen amazingly-talented professional core company members (and not just actors- also technical staff) in Alpena, to mentoring high schoolers and having them on stage alongside professionals– they’re also bringing another form of entertainment to Alpena: cabaret.

cabaret (\ˌka-bə-ˈrā, ˈka-bə-ˌ\): a restaurant serving liquor and providing entertainment (as by singers or dancers)

This summer, Thunder Bay Theatre is hosting THREE Late Night Cabarets, one for each of their summer shows: Joseph, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, and Spamalot.

Late Night Cabarets are held in the historic John A. Lau Saloon’s Antler Room. Doors open at 9:00 pm, with an estimated start time at 9:30 pm. After their shows at the theatre, members of Thunder Bay Theatre’s Summer Core Company (& non-core members!) will be heading next door to perform some of their favorite pieces from musical theater, with selections tomorrow night from Chicago, Kiss Me Kate, Little Mermaid, and more. Tickets are $10 at the door.

So what are you doing this Friday night at 9:30 pm? What good is sitting alone in your room? Come hear the music play!  Life is a cabaret, old chum! Come to the cabaret!

And while you’re at it… make sure you get tickets to their summer season. Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat runs through July 10th with performances Wednesday through Saturday at 7:30 pm and Sunday matinees at 2 pm. And like its title suggests, it’s nothing short of amazing. With a modern setting and a crazy-talented cast & crew that seem to be having waayyy too much fun on stage, it’s a must see for the whole family. (Guaranteed that Those Canaan Days and other themed numbers will have your side splitting).  Click here for their full summer schedule and click here to get tickets.
