2nd Annual Alpena Ice Fest is Coming Up!

After a very successful first year, the Alpena Ice Fest is kicking off for it’s 2nd annual event on Saturday, February 11th, 2023. This event, while very cold last year, was incredibly fun and busy. It will be starting at Michekewis Park where there will be kids activities, a bonfire, s’mores, Elsa singing, ice carving, and more from 11am-3pm. After that, the activities will move to Downtown Alpena for the Fire & Ice portion of the event where there will be sculptures, cocktails, an ice bar, an ice luge, and more from 4pm-9pm! We are so excited to have the community come and celebrate the winter season in Downtown Alpena.

For the Fire & Ice portion of the event, 2nd Ave will be closed in Downtown Alpena from 3pm on through the evening. During the closure, you will be able to sip on your cocktails on the street and throughout downtown as part of the social district. Along that street there will also be solo stoves for people to warm up at. There will also be gorgeous sculptures in Culligan Plaza and outside of businesses. Part of the fun of Fire & Ice will include an Ice Sculpture Scavenger Hunt where you will take the clues and use them to find the different ice sculptures that each business will have. The winner of the scavenger hunt will win $100 in Downtown Dollars that they can use like cash to make purchases at any of the downtown locations that accept them. The scavenger hunt will be posted to our social media and website early next week!
