About three and a half years ago, our downtown community welcomed a new small business to Second Avenue: Bob’s Bullpen. Bob’s Bullpen is your local go-to spot for new and vintage comic books, graphic novels, posters, toys, gifts and games. Bob Lefevre, the owner, has worked in the comic book and advertising industries for a long time—he’s drawn comics and designed toys for Transformers and Ninja Turtles.
Now, after three and a half successful years downtown, Bob’s Bullpen is expanding into the vacant space next door! I chatted with Bob a couple of weeks ago, and he explained that the expansion will be completed in three main phases.
PHASE ONE: The Bulldog: A Hot Dog and Coffee Joint
The Bulldog will offer a budget-friendly food option for downtown with themed hot-dogs, and other concession items. There will even be meatless hot dog options for all vegans and vegetarians in town!
PHASE TWO: Movie Theater Area
Following the concession area, a theater space will open up. Movie and dinner nights, game competitions, Magic: The Gathering tournaments, and other fun community events will be hosted in this space, so keep an eye out for those updates!
PHASE THREE: Art Classes
The theater space will also double as a classroom where Bob Lefevre will be teaching a variety of art classes for ALL ages! Bob’s Bullpen will also sell all the art supplies that coordinate with the classes that will be offered.
PHASE ONE will be completed very soon. On October 5th, The Bulldog will be open for business! So mark your calendars and come on downtown to grab a bite to eat and support one of our many growing downtown businesses. There’s going to be something for everyone at Bob’s Bullpen!
